Genre that you rarely read (but wish that you could/did)

Not strictly a genre but I rarely read Poetry. When I see excerpts on social media, I love the use of words and the concentrated meanings of poems but haven’t read a poetry book since school.

Do you have a favorite reading snack?

Chocolate. I love the way it melts on my tongue when I’m reading a sensuous scene.

We all have a million book boyfriends, but who is your favorite book villain?

Villanelle in Luke Jenning’s, Killing Eve. Her character is addictively fascinating and scary.

What distracts you easily when you’re reading?

Not a lot. It takes something dramatic.

What is your favorite film adaptation of a book?

Lord of the Rings. I didn’t think it would work, but wow.

What is the most disappointing film adaptation of a book?

I tend to stay away from film adaptions of a book I’ve read and vice versa.

What will cause you to DNF a book?

I don’t have any triggers, but I like a book with some excitement or plot twists. A boring book would probably not get finished. Although I love a slowburn romance, especially if the characters are very deep and engaging.

Do you keep your books organized?

I tend to read Kindle books and I have given most of my paperbacks to charity recently but I do keep a cherished few.

What is a book that you didn’t expect to like, but you did?

Ashley Jade’s, Devil. I’d never read an MM book and the twist caught me by surprise. I really enjoyed it.

What is your Girl Power Story about?

A bad-ass blacksmith, Josie, who returns to the small town she grew up in to take over her father’s business. The reason she left the town in the first place is what has given her strength. Some of the locals are not keen on a woman running the blacksmiths they’ve used for decades and she has to stand up to them. One of which is her teenage sweetheart—although it’s not initially clear whether his reluctance is because she’s a female blacksmith or a lost-love he can’t get over.
