AUTHOR INTERVIEW

Let's get to know our next author, S. Cole.

Tell everyone who you are and a little bit about yourself.

Hey! I’m Shay Shay, but you may know me as S. Cole. I’m an author who loves to write about whatever pops into my head. I’ve mostly written dark crime books, but some of them have a little bit of smut and one has a paranormal aspect to it *insert shoulder shrug emoji here*

I recently wrote a comedic memoir about my entertaining dating history, which is completely out of left field for me. The idea came to me and the words flowed out of me when I really needed it, so I wrote the damn thing. Hopefully, I’ll have it published and ready for reader’s in the next year! It will be published under Shay Shay, which is what I plan to release lighter, funnier books under; that way, people won’t pick it up and wonder where’s the blood? Where’s the crazy? You can still get that under all of my S. Cole books!

How many books have you Written?

I’ve written seven and started many, but I’ve published five.

When did you start writing?

The first memory I have of writing a story was when I was eight years old in second grade.

What made you attempt to become an author?

Calista basically strangled me until I shared her story.

Who is an author you admire?

I absolutely love and look up to Ruth Ware.

Where do you book ideas come from?

Some dark part of my mind and the news.

What's your favorite character you've created?

Brielle. Her eyes still haunt me. In the best way possible.

Explain your creative process when you start a new book.

I don’t think I really have a set process. It’s been different with each book. I’ve written in the day time, at night. At a desk, on the floor. Listening to music, in complete silence. Frustrated or free-flowing. Happy or suffering from my depression . . . it’s been different every time.

Is your book life a secret? Do you have support from family and friends?

I am definitely open about my book life! Very supportive friends and family.

Does your significant other help with research ;) ?

Well . . . I don’t have one of these . . . so, no lol but the last book I wrote was all about my dating history, so yes, research was done.

If you could give a helpful hint to a new indie author, what would that be?

Just write something! Five words a day or 5,0000, but get something on paper when an idea strikes. Don’t let it get lost in real life.

Starbucks or Dunkin Donuts?

It really depends on what mood I’m in or where my gift card came from.

What's your favorite type of ice cream?

Sweet Cream or Birthday Cake

What's your description of you ideal guy?(dream book boyfriend)
